On August 28, 2024, a workshop for the validation of the « Guide for Capitalizing on Advocacy Experiences » member of the Consortium of the Knowledge Center for organic agriculture in Africa (KCOA) took place at CPF of Bandjoun.
Moderatated by Mr Soffo Gilbert, specializing in local development, the workshop brought together various stakeholders, including leaders and representatives from Inades Formation, CPF de Bandjoun, GAAD, SAILD, and CIPCRE. Participants engaged in fruitful discussions aimed at refining the guide to better support advocacy efforts in the field of organic agriculture and agroecology across Central Africa.
The main objectives of the workshop included reviewing the guide’s content, sharing insights from past advocacy experiences, and identifying best practices that could enhance the effectiveness of future advocacy initiatives. Participants highlighted the importance of collaboration and knowledge sharing among member organizations to strengthen their collective impact.
The meeting underscored the commitment of the KCOA consortium to fostering sustainable agricultural practices and promoting agroecological principles in the region. Feedback from the workshop will be instrumental in finalizing the guide, ensuring it meets the needs of organizations involved in advocacy for organic agriculture and agroecology.
As a result of this workshop, the KCOA consortium is well-positioned to enhance its advocacy strategies, contributing to more informed policies and practices that benefit both local communities and the environment in Central Africa.
Even through the path of organic agriculture and agro ecology is still long, participants believe in the fact that working together will end in making the expectations been fulfilled.
